Two events in collaboration with the artist residency Index Freiraum

Reading and Concert: Anna Melikova & Miyamelo
For this event, Anna Melikova will read some passages from her book *Ich ertrinke in einem fliehenden See*, followed by a set of electroacoustic flute compositions by Miyamelo. At the end, everything will happen at the same time.
Melikova is a writer, screenwriter, and curator. Her debut novel was published in 2024 by Matthes & Seitz Berlin. The book tells a story of lesbian desire, the search for identity, and political awakening. She is a former Index resident.
Miyamelo, Index current "COLLAB" residents, are a Zürich–Tokyo electroacoustic double duo comprised of two augmented flutes and two self-built improvisation machines.

Performative Essay

Dos pájaros perreando en el cielo is a performative essay that will take place both at la_cápsula in Zurich and online. This essay plays with time and space—Carolina will perform in person at la_cápsula, while Georgia will perform live digitally from México City.
The central concept of this essay is to explore what HIENAS calls "contamineichon": touching together at a distance. Influenced by the work of Denise Ferreira da Silva, they explore what it looks like, what it feels like, what it sounds like when we refuse notions of separability and determinacy through play and mistranslation.
Cumbia, videos, glitches, and unconventional ways of reading an essay will make themselves present during this hybrid evening.
Carolina Bollaín y Goitia is a visual artist and the current Index resident.
