Imagine being able to hear the sounds of an uninterrupted tradition from Mesoamerica. Imagine tasting the flavors of centuries-old traditions. Imagine if materials could tell the story of every touch.

 

Antiguas Sonoras takes as its starting point figures that have been removed from their original context and have thus lost their function. In the realm of speculation, they are given a new role: as carriers of relationships, voices, and cycles between humans, nature, and the cosmos.

Stell dir vor, du könntest die Klänge einer ununterbrochenen Tradition Mesoamerikas hören. Stell dir vor, du würdest die Geschmäcker jahrhundertealter Tradition probieren. Stell dir vor, Materialien könnten von allen Berührungen berichten.

 

Antiguas Sonoras geht von Figuren aus, die ihrem ursprünglichen Kontext entnommen wurden und dadurch ihre Funktion verloren haben. Im Gedankenfeld der Spekulation erhalten sie eine neue Rolle: als Träger von Beziehungen, Stimmen und Zyklen zwischen Mensch, Natur und Kosmos.
